Come and make handmade stoneware pottery!

Pottery Class

Clay modeling workshops allow you to create one or more ceramic objects using different techniques (excluding wheel-throwing) and then paint them. A theme is suggested for each workshop to guide you, but you are free to create whatever you wish. Pottery classes are open to children aged 8 and over, accompanied by an adult.

I will carry out the following steps for you: drying, firing, and glazing.

The indicated price includes the provision of raw materials, the use of equipment, as well as firing and glazing carried out by me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the classes open to beginners?

Absolutely! My workshops are open to everyone, from beginner to experienced potters. I adapt my explanations and advice so that everyone can have a good time and create pottery they are proud of.

Can I pick up my pottery right away?

Unfortunately no. During the workshop, we make and paint a piece of pottery. After these first two steps, I collect all the pottery, dry them, glaze them, and fire them twice. After about 6 weeks, at the end of this process, I will drop off your pottery at the place where you made it, and you can then pick it up. Don't worry, you will be notified at that time.

Are we going to make "real" pottery?

Yes! During classes, we use the same clay I use for my own production: white stoneware. This is a high-firing clay that can be used to make strong objects and everyday dinnerware; it's even dishwasher and microwave safe.

How do I register for the next workshop?

Once you have chosen the workshop location you wish to attend (Annecy, Chambéry or St Jean de Maurienne), simply click on the corresponding button in the "Where?" section just above. Feel free to contact me via the form or on social media if needed.

What happens if my pottery breaks?

While very infrequent, it is possible for a piece of pottery to crack spontaneously during drying or firing, for example due to uneven thickness or a large air bubble. If this occurs, I regret that I cannot offer compensation. However, if my mishandling leads to your pottery breaking, then we can discuss the best solution for you.
